BWilsonville, Oregon 97007www.Avamere.ComThe corporate controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the Avamere Family of Companies (AFOC), to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting/finance records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards (IFRS).

As the leader of the accounting team, the corporate controller is in charge of closely monitoring the company’s financial health.

They typically maintain, manage and analyze financial statements, payroll, accounts payable, cash and more.

Responsibilities/Qualifications/Skillset RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.

Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.

Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.

Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies.

Directs and participates in all phases of the preparation of complete, accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management staff, all internal and external stakeholders, including external auditors and financial institutions.

Manage the maintenance and reconciliation of a variety of ledgers for multiple entities, review and correct accounting transactions to ensure accurate recording, balancing and classification of income and expenditures to proper accounts in accordance with GAAP and Avamere Health Services, LLC internal procedures.

Oversee reconciliation of intercompany transactions monthly; allocation of expenses among AFOC.

Coordinate the completion of Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports.

Review and verify the reconciliation of bank statements, fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll accruals, prepaid assets and accrued expenses on a monthly basis.

Oversee continuous audit and reconciliation procedures to ensure the validity of balance sheet accounts.

Oversee the preparation of financial and payroll activity studies, reports and statements as directed.

Direct payroll transactions of the home office as well as the payroll procedures of all AFOC.

Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the activities of the accounting department; recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures.

Provide technical assistance and training to staff.

Participate in budget development and administration, as requested by EVP of FP& A.

Performs related duties and responsibilities as requested by the CEO, CFO or COO.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Excellent communications/verbal skills (written and oral) in order to effectively problem solve with other employees as required.

Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS procedures and their application to a variety of accounting transactions and problems.

Knowledge of financial research and report preparation methods and techniques as well as the ability to prepare a variety of complex financial statements, reports, and analyses.

Understanding of modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment.

Including automated financial management systems.

Must have excellent organizational and time management skills in order to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.

Willingness to participate actively and work effectively as a team member with all members of management and all employees.

MINIMUM PREPARATION/STANDARDS NORMALLY REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or finance.

CPA required.

High degree of leadership, team building and motivational skills with five years of experience at the management accounting or public accounting level.

Health care experience preferred but not required.

Maintain high standards of confidentiality and honesty.

Strong analytical skills; ability to evaluate andsolve problems with little or no assistance.

Well-developed interpersonal skills to be able to represent the AFOC in a professional manner that will enhance its overall image.

Accounting professionals must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the AFOC staff, as well as third parties.

Ability and willingness to treat fellow employees in a manner consistent with the AFOC policies, procedures and core values.
