Grower Accountant/Accountant

The Grower Accountant also prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual grower information, processes grower contracts, paperwork and the flow as it relates to grower accounting.

This position will be expected to exhibit the highest professional standards, ethical principles, and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc support functions.nn nn n nn nnEssential Functions:nn Prepare & communicate weekly forecast and final Settlement Reports for grower payments Process appropriate deductions from grower accounts, such as freight, materials, labor, etc.

Monitor proper distribution of receiving, packout and other routine grower reporting.

Makes certain financial information for our grower partners is prepared in a timely and accurate fashion.

Prepare and distribute Annual Summary Reports for grower partners and management.

Collecting and managing all grower contracts or special circumstances (e.g.

renewal, relaying cost of charges, etc.) Administers all accounting related to grower partners.

Processes and prepares accurate operational financial information for grower partners within predetermined deadlines.

Provides operational accounting support to internal departments, customers and grower partners relating to produce business units.

Investigates and resolves related problems in a timely manner.

Works as part of a team to complete all weekly and monthly accounting entries as they relate to the business units.

Management of Grower Accounting and Lot Accounting Reports including handling of all A/P communication with vendors/growers.

Including assessing charges, lot reconciliation and lot closures.

Supports and implements Accounting & Finance objectives, while constantly working towards improving processes and procedures.

Assist in account reconciliation and preparation of month-end closing documents.

Work on miscellaneous weekly and monthly reports as required by management.

Prepares and posts general accounting transactions to business systems according to schedule or Controller direction; research and analyze discrepancies.

Reconcile and maintain schedules for all balance sheet accounts, audit transactional data and post monthly closing transactions.

Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.

Assist with annual financial audit.

Responsible for understanding aspects of the monthly close, meeting deadlines and contributing to that process as needs are determined by controller.

Be able to provide training for seasonal workers on procedures and how to work with Famous Software.

Be an IT resource for office and production workers; providing assistance as needed at all facilities.

Assist in initial coarse filter review of monthly financial statements.

Help identify and correct errors.

Provide backup for AP and AR functions within the Accounting Department.

nn n nn nnRequirements/Skills: nn Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Intermediate computer fluency e.g.

Excel, Word, along with related work experience using produce accounting software (Famous, etc.).

Fresh berry or agricultural industry and packing house familiarity a plus.

Must be capable of working a flexible schedule as workload requires.

Ability to provide excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills including capability to write reports, and communicate by email or internal messaging as needed.

Must be able to work as part of a team to complete all weekly and monthly accounting entries as they related to the business unit.

Strong work ethic, capacity to get things done independently, and consistent performance with a sense of urgency and commitment.
