Senior Financial Consultant

nnThis position serves as a key business partner to the Hillsboro Medical Center management team and provides complex financial and analytical support to strengthen strategic decision making.nn nn nn nnThis role serves as a key financial advisor to assist with the interpretation and presentation of data related to key service lines, growth initiatives and operational improvements. This position will also serve as the operating budget lead and will develop complex business cases while working with confidential and highly sensitive information, including programmatic changes and other business opportunities. nn nn nn nn Key responsibilities include: nn nn nn nn Develops complex financial analyses, including but not limited to: nn nnAdvising leaders on financial matters, including pro forma analysis of growth strategies, key investments and operational changesnn nnMaking recommendations on business strategies based on the outcome of financial performance measures, market studies or projectionsnn nnCompleting routine review of financial results and trended information – ensuring data reflects consistent assumptions – to make recommendations for improvement. Utilizing Axiom and other databases to develop reports to share with leaders and other key stakeholders.nn nnIncorporating Action OI benchmarking data into analyses to examine best practices and potential opportunities identified using peer group datann nnPartnering with operational leaders to critically analyze and develop staffing plans that meet budget targets. Analytics may include daily productivity data, aligning staffing with volumes, understanding minimum staffing needs, as well as monthly and bi-weekly volume and payroll data.nn nn n nn nn Supports the development of the annual budget by: nn nnActing as an expert-level resource in budget system development and maintenance using the Syntellis Axiom Budgeting and Management Reporting applications. This includes report writing, testing and other tasks to support both the annual budget process and the ongoing management of budgets/variance analysis.nn nnDeveloping educational and training materials to increase financial and technical acumen amongst leadersnn nnManaging the development of budgets for assigned departments or leadersnn nn n nn nn JOB SPECIFICATIONS nn nn Education: nn nnRequirednn Bachelor’s degree, including 18 hours of accounting and / or finance courses from an accredited college or university or 2 years of financial analysis experience nn nn nnPreferrednn MBA, MHA, or other related graduate degree nn nn nn Experience: nn nnRequirednn  Five or more (5+) years’ financial analysis experience demonstrating advanced analytical and technical skills.

 Two of the five years must be with a healthcare organization (preferably hospital setting) nn nn nnPreferred nn  Prior healthcare experience performing analysis related to operational improvements and developing business cases nn nn nn Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: nn nnPreferred nn CPA CMA CHFP FHFMA nn nn nn Job Related Skills, Abilities and Behaviors: nn nnRequirednn Demonstrated ability to work independently Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority Advanced spreadsheet skills, including complex functions, formulas, and formatting Experience with relational databases, including business intelligence tools and budget systems Knowledge of accounting and / or financial principles Understanding of financial reporting concepts, such as cost accounting and net present value analysis Excellent communication skills – both written and oral Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format Demonstrated ability to track large amounts of detail with accuracy Demonstrated ability to lead presentations, training, or facilitate meetings with a diverse group of participants Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment Demonstrated reliability in prior work experience Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members nn nn nnPreferrednn SQL Programming Experience with MS4 Experience with Axiom financial software nn nn nn n nn nnHillsboro Medical Center believes in providing equal employment opportunities for all qualified individuals.
