Appointment Scheduler – Call Center (Bend, Oregon)


This is a Contract position in Bend, OR posted March 24, 2021.

Job Description

Essential Job functions:

  • Responsible for handling patient inquiriesAnswering questions regarding appointments, registration updates, EMR inquires, and non-medical informationAnswering questions regarding prescription refills, lab order status and clinical department requests
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customersDirect requests and unresolved issues to the designated departments
  • Refer unresolved patient grievances to designated department contact for further investigation.
  • Complete tasks sent via EMR, obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle patient inquiries
  • Provide feedback on the efficiency of the customer service process
  • Organize workflow to meet patient and/or customer needs
  • Meet or exceed individual and department production, reporting and quality metrics
  • Work with highly sensitive information while maintaining Personal Protected Information (PPI) requirements

  • Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account.

  • Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking).
  • Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-year customer service experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work and communicate with internal and external customers/patients with the ability to articulate message to ensure information is clear and accurate. 
  • Presents professional demeanor with the ability to positively adapt to change. 
  • Ability to perform calmly, competently and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to multi task, prioritize and organize work in order to respond to multiple demands and timelines. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required.
  • Travel: – may be required for meetings or other duties at satellite locations.
