Audio Visual Services Project Lead

This is a Full-time position in Portland, OR posted February 11, 2021.

Summary This position is part of the Audio Visual Services (AVS) team and is responsible for leading and coordinating campus projects involving audiovisual (AV) technology. This position will coordinate AV projects with both internal and external clients and contractors while working collaboratively with the Audio Visual Services Manager, Technical Services Director, and Academic Technology Services and Innovation Director to ensure that the design of existing and new systems meet academic, University, and industry standards. The duties of this position also include designing technical solutions to meet AV system needs, and providing Tier III level support, including diagnostic maintenance for AV systems, for the campus community and events. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position with benefits. The full job description is available at httpbit.lyAvSpLdUP httpbit.lyAvSpLdUP Responsibilities Coordinator duties Provide coordination for projects managed by AVS and interact as necessary to support AVS related requests and projects managed by other departments. Work closely with University Operations, Facilities and Planning, University Events, contractors and architects, and other on-campus and off-campus entitiesindividuals as required. Research, spec, and obtain quotes for the recommendation of AVS solutions and services for new installations, major upgrades, and major repair projects as necessary. Manage bid and purchasing processes with outside vendors for AVS related equipment and professional services. Maintain system architecture standards for classrooms, event spaces, conference rooms, and other spaces with AVS systems across campus. Understand, develop, and implement system architecture changes as needed. Interact with and provide technical consultation for internal and external customers. Maintain current knowledge and expertise related to AV equipment and trends. Provide documentation and training to faculty and AVS staff pertaining to new or updated systems. Provide department leadership with bi-monthly status updates on current project deliverables as well as potential future projects. Attend monthly IS Project Communications meetings. Provide Tier III support for AVS systems. Provide on-site support for high visibility events, including, but not limited to, Board of Regents meetings. Participate in committees and Information Services projects as appropriate. Act as designee for the AVS Manager as requested. Other duties Provide customer support as it pertains to scheduling, delivery, setup, and consultation regarding AVS equipment. This includes specific duties such as consulting with customers about AV equipment needs delivering, setting up, and tearing downpacking up AV equipment proactively identifying potential issues and recommending solutions to specific problems providing audio and video editing. Help create and upkeep trainings, policies, and related materials. Help administer AVS team processes, including processes related to equipment scheduling software and effective workflow and escalation of service tickets. Provide audiovisual technology related trainings to UP community members. Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or supervisorrsquos designee. Requirements Education and Experience Required five years of directly relevant experience with AV systems, equipment, and services. Required three years of AV project coordination. Preferred bachelor’s degree in related field. Preferred five years of AV system design, implementation, and project coordination. Or equivalent education andor experience. Certifications and Licenses Required valid driverrsquos license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency, knowledge, and skill in the field of audiovisual systems. Effective ability to use and learn computers, technology, software, and applications at level of sophistication required for the duties of the position, including, without limitation, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), the internet, and computerized maintenance management systems. Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to consistently handle and follow through with multiple projects, tasks, and business processes while meeting deadlines. Strong orientation towards taking ownership of projects and assignments by being proactive, communicative, and making process improvement suggestions.
