Job Description:Certified Nursing Assistant I CNA1 To provide patient and family care as part of the health care team in accordance with the mission, vision, and policies and procedures of Bay Area Hospital.

Working under the direction and supervision of the RN, provides care authorized by the OSBN for the CNA1.

Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while maintaining patient safety.

Full-Time Position (72 Hours Per Pay Period)Shift: 0700-1930 Days: VariedWages Based Upon ExperienceCLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled POSITION SUMMARYTo provide patient and family care as part of the health care team in accordance with the mission, vision, and policies and procedures of Bay Area Hospital.

Working under the direction and supervision of the RN, provides care authorized by the OSBN for the CNA1.

Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while maintaining patient safety.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Essential job requirements listed in bold )Works under the supervision and monitoring of a licensed nurseAssists patients with ADLs (feeding, oral care, bathing, toileting, ambulating, and repositioning)Obtains patient vital signsMeasures & records intake and output (I& O)Documents appropriately in patient recordAnswers patient callsAssists with fall preventionAssists with preventing pressure, friction, and shearing of patient skinObserves and reports observations, information, changes, and concerns to the Registered NurseMaintains effective communication with patients, families, and coworkersMaintains patient and environmental safety1:1 patient safety observation as neededGives clear, simple directions to patient, and reinforces teaching and orientation to the patientMaintains and enforces strict patient confidentiality and respect patient and family rightsPerforms other duties as assigned that are within OSBN CNA1 scope of practice and which are not duties that are exempted from performing at Bay Area Hospital SKILLS AND ABILITIES(Essential job requirements listed in bold )Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job locationAbility to recognize and report abnormal occurrencesAble to appropriately use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Knows the fire plan and escape routes for patient and selfDemonstrates competence by ongoing completion of any or all of the following:Proficiency testingSkill demonstrationPractice of core standards for service excellenceProvides patient care and performs tasks using job skills, growth, and development knowledgeEffective communication skills both verbally and written EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES(Essential job requirements listed in bold )American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 60-day grace periodCurrent certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant 1 in the State of OregonHigh School Diploma or Equivalent preferred EXPERIENCE(Essential job requirements listed in bold ) GENERAL INFORMATION Union Affiliation: UFCW The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
