Front Desk / Reservation Agent

Sea Gypsy Rentals, LLC

This is a Contract position in Lincoln City, OR posted January 29, 2021.

Job DescriptionSea Gypsy Rentals is looking for a reservationist to contribute to our front desk team. We’re offering the job at $16 per hour, plus other performance-based perks. If you have previous front desk experience, we can benefit from your wisdom and knowledge. Right now, we’re looking for someone who can work weekends and fill in for other front desk employees when they’re sick or on vacation. The position will work at least 20 hours per week, and possibly more. We’re not a chain. We’re a small, family owned company with about 18 employees. Sea Gypsy Rentals manages 52 privately owned condos at the Sea Gypsy. Here’s the interesting part: We ran our company for the first 8 years without a front desk. We used to communicate with our guests exclusively by phone or email. This year, we leased the long-shuttered office at the Sea Gypsy, which we’ve been remodeling for months. As far as compensation goes, nearly every job within our company comes with a set of performance-based rewards. On the front desk, soliciting reviews can yield $100 bonuses based on positive guest feedback. Additionally, all of our employees earn a seasonal bonus at the end of summer. The position comes with paid time off, and a two-night stay in one of our beachfront condos. The properties we manage here are distinct. Each condo has an individual owner and a unique personality. Since no two units are the same, each condo has it’s own nickname: “Anchor Management,” The Beachelor Pad,” “Beaches Be Crazy,” “Guppy Love,” “Shrimp Daddy,” “Ships & Giggle,” etc. Check us out at https://www.seagypsyrentals.com.The front desk work here is more stimulating than at a typical hotel. It’s not just answering phones, or helping guests figure out their TV remotes. During your shifts, you are in control of our entire operation. Think of it as the pilot, flying the airplane. We keep you busy with all kinds of tasks. During the slower months, we give you projects to keep you engaged. Our building is three stories tall with no elevator, so you must be able to go up and down stairs and carry at least 20 pounds. Previous experience will be viewed favorably, but it is not a prerequisite. For any of you out there with a college degree but no hospitality experience, don’t be bashful about applying. Past employees with no previous hotel experience have flourished in our organization.
