Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse utilizes the knowledge bases of nursing education and experience in order to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols. The RN responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate nursing interventions. The RN organizes patient care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating on an ongoing basis.Minimum QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing.Current RN licensure in the state of Oregon.Obtain BLS and ACLS certification within three months of hire and maintain as current.Two years of acute care experience preferred.Essential Job FunctionalDemonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients in the following age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and GeriatricsDocuments thoroughly, following regulatory and hospital requirementsParticipates in the responsible management of health care resourcesAssumes responsibility for clinical competency and professional developmentPractices in a clinical environment through application of theoretical knowledge and practical skillsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrate sound judgment, patience and maintain a professional demeanor at all timesAbility to work in a busy and stressful environmentOrganizational skills and the ability to prioritizeComputer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Electronic medical records softwareStrong interpersonal verbal and written communication skillsCreativity, problem analysis and decision makingAbility to work varied shiftsWVMC is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.
