nn nn To achieve this goal, the Cloud Hardware Manufacturing Engineering (CHME) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware.

We are looking for seasoned engineers with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

nn nn We are looking for a Sr Quality Engineer to join the team.  nn nn #CHME #AZURE #Cloud nn n Responsibilities n Work with a broad constituency at all organizational levels to advocate the adoption and application of quality and process improvement concepts and principles aimed at improving the efficiency of production creation.

Analyze global datacenter fleet buildout, deployment, and early life hardware health data to identify opportunities for improvement to hardware Quality, including reliability, availability, and capacity.

Identify and report key metrics and indicators for early life datacenter fleet hardware health, driving and tracking improvement over time.

Work directly with suppliers to drive improvement in the early detection and repair of hardware Quality issues and prevent the escape of Quality issues into the Microsoft datacenters.

Collaborate with datacenter service teams to drive changes to the buildout and troubleshooting processes to improve the efficiency of hardware repair and the overall Quality of the hardware.

Analyze diagnostic data and processes and work with diagnostic and test teams to improve the accuracy and efficiency of automated tests and diagnostics.

Drive technical solutions to hardware Quality issues cross-functionally with internal Engineering and Networking organizations, including both hardware and software/firmware n Qualifications n BS degree in Materials Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Master’s degree in Electronics is preferred.

12+ years of working experience at Electrical industry or supplier quality for electronic component in Cloud server industry.

Understands server microprocessor architectures, including the operation of related subsystems, interfaces, and components.

Deep understanding of root cause/corrective action methods to identify contributing factors of production defects.

In depth knowledge of server systems and knowledge of the server HW manufacturing process or consumer electronics Ability to analyze large data sets, extract the essence, and present and communicate the results effectively.

Understands server microprocessor architectures, including the operation of related subsystems, interfaces, and components.

Familiar with datacenter environments, including infrastructure, networking, power distribution, and repair processes and procedures.

Use and apply statistics to evaluate product reliability and highlight potential product risks.

nn Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
