nn nn Leading efforts in this transformation is the Talent, Learning & Insights (TL&I) organization, which is accountable for activating learning, developing leaders, personalizing work and evolving our culture.

To deliver on these bold ambitions, within TLI there is the Talent and Learning Experiences (TLX) team focused on quality, consistent and scalable experiences that delight employees, next practices in the future of work and evolved and enhanced durable capabilities to support business aspirations.

We are hiring a Director of Operations Management who will strategically, at a global level, develop and manage key operational processes and procedures underpinning opportunities for all employees to do their best work.

nn nn This Director will have demonstrated functional area expertise and will have achieved this in a global corporate environment of significant scale.

In addition, this Director should have a highly developed level of business acumen and knowledge and working experience in procurement, supply chain management, global sourcing, inventory control, production cycles or related fields.

The successful candidate will have the following: nn n Responsibilities n nn This senior leader will join the TLX leadership team and manage passionate, life-long learners responsible for operational excellence.

Operational leadership includes: nn End-to-End Durable Capabilities: delivery of high touch, employee and partner promoted services as well as enablement of self-serve elements “Live” Learning Spaces: physical, virtual and blended spaces across Microsoft’s global ecosystem.

Outsourcing/Partner Governance: oversight of internal and external partner essential to the on-going success with operations and support activities.

Support Continuum : the roadmap, playbook and successful execution of support for all customers and partners in their talent and learning efforts.

Technology Scenarios and Requirements: identification of the business scenarios and resulting technology requirements necessary to bring them to life.

Measures/Metrics and Scorecard: health of “business” indicators – leading and lagging – to influence continuous improvement.

Operations “best/next practices” in Microsoft’s Talent and Learning Ecosystem: model and coach Microsoft’s federated learning community to aspire to and achieve operational practices recognized as best/next both internally (by employees and partners) and externally.

nn Responsibilities and Accountabilities Include: nn Customer, Partner & Business Value: creating and delivering solutions that enhance satisfaction, performance and business value by applying deep understanding of customer needs, drivers, and decision-making processes.

Strategic Partnership : Driving the development of shared strategies to ensure clear expectations for scope and scale and minimized redundancies.

Driving operations and operational excellence through strong partnerships with human resources, diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, HR operations, talent management, learning and development (including the ELC), leadership/management/employee development, HR Business Insights, organizational development, and IT professionals.

Delivery : Demonstrate leadership experience on global policies and procedures for process and services.

Advising on the clarification and establishment of performance expectations and consistency, accuracy and timeliness of delivery.

Operational Excellence : Guide workstreams towards simplification and automation to evolve processes, services, and solutions to increase agility and efficiencies and manage cost using the required methodologies.

Complex Strategy and Program Management : Develop, maintain and communicate the strategic vision and the concrete components which bring TLI’s and TLX’s strategies to life for all employees globally.

Systems Thinking : The ability to organize disparate requirements through a coherent and systematic approach.

Collaboration : Work across the TLX Leadership team and TLI team broadly to ensure maximum impact for operations and other stakeholders across Microsoft.

Measurement : Monitor operations to ensure that planned output levels, cost levels, and quality objectives are met.

Analyze data to find better solutions and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of services.

Engage across the Microsoft learning ecosystem to share insights that drive continuously improving business outcomes.

Team Leadership : Manage and grow a diverse, talented and committed team whilst providing thoughtful career planning with employees.

Through behaviors and actions, set an example and represent the Microsoft Values and Leadership Principles, including giving and receiving perspective and acting with superior integrity and a high degree of empathy and inclusion.

n Qualifications n nn Required Qualifications: nn 12+ years of experience working in supply chain management, global outsourcing managment, inventory control, production cycles, human resources, or related fields OR 10+ years of experience working in procurement, supply chain management, global sourcing, inventory control, production cycles, human resources, or related fields AND a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field.

nn Additional or Preferred Qualifications nn Human Resources Professional Certification and/or Project Managment Certifications (e.g., PMP, CSCP, CPIM, PHR, SPHR, SHRM) Master’s degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Business or related field 3+ years of experience in people management Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work with senior leaders to accomplish organization priorities.

Demonstrates thought leadership in the application of systems-thinking to forecast business improvements and impact.

Coaches across the discipline and the company to share insights.

Experience in the technology industry or related industries would be desired.

Worked at a Fortune or Global 500 company and have experience scaling and delivering solutions across the world (Microsoft is in over 190 countries and has nearly 120,000 employees).
